Greetings:

Warm wishes for the holidays.  Thank you for being a member of the Cornell Black Alumni Association (CBAA)! We are delighted to have you as part of the CBAA family.  As we move into the New Year 2015, a new and exciting change has been made.  We are providing membership cards to all CBAA members who are up to date with their dues and to our Lifetime members to identify our CBAA family.  The card-carrying CBAA member will be able to enjoy the benefits of being a dues-paying member:

- Discounts for members to our paid events -
- Automatic membership in the Buyer's Edge Discount Club -
- Access to employment opportunities and a forum to showcase your business -
- Most importantly opportunity to vote at our General meetings and elections for CBAA Executive Board -

Please visit our website at www.cbaa1976.com to bring your dues status up-to-date and know that your first year with CBAA after graduation is membership dues-free! Be aware that our fiscal year is July 1st - June 30th.  This means that if you pay anytime after July 1st ( even up to May 31st of the following year) your membership will end June 30th of the following year after July 1st. It does not follow January 1 to December 31st as the Paypal website payments would reflect.

In the near future, those of you who are up to date with your dues will receive individual emails requesting your mailing address so that your card can be sent to you.  Lifetime members if you do not receive an email please email me with your address so that I can send you your card.  I will also send out reminders to ask you to pay your dues.

If you plan to join us at our Annual Alvin Ailey Reception and Program, I will be able to give you your card at that time.

Our general meeting is scheduled for January 3rd, 2015 at the Cornell Club in New York City.  Come out, make yourself heard and also get up to date on the activities of CBAA.  To be able to vote at this meeting you must be up to date with your dues and can pay your dues on the day and receive your CBAA Membership Card at that time.

**** MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR JUNE 2015 CORNELL UNIVERSITY REUNION IN

ITHACA, NEW YORK AND CBAA EXECUTIVE BOARD ELECTIONS****

Again, you will need to be an active dues-paying member to participate in the Election Process.

CBAA has sponsored and co-sponsored various events over the years including events such as special seating at the Alvin Ailey Dance Production in New York; Bar-B-Qs and Mixers to just unwind; Volunteering at Food Kitchens and the CBAA Outstanding Student Leadership Award to name a few and the list goes on.

Our doors are always open and we are always listening.  If you have a concern or question, please do not hesitate to email me cmcmd135@gmail.com  or vpmembership@cbaa1976.com and of course visit our website www.cbaa1976.com

Happy Holidays!!!
