Today, Cornell hosts its first ever “Giving Day”, a one-day (24-hour) online fundraising event. The Cornell Black Alumni Association encourages you to participate in this monumental first for our alma mater. The Giving Day website will allow you to give to the annual fund of any School, College or Unit within the university OR to direct your gift to a program that is important to you.
We have identified a few areas that are most influential to Black students, staff, and faculty on the hill:
Ujamaa Residential College
Wari House
Africana Studies and Research Center
Africana Library
James and Janice Turner Scholarship
John Henrik Clarke Tradition Fellowship
Cornell Black Alumni Association Cornell Tradition Fellowship
To direct your gift to any of these programs, you will need to specify the program area on theGiving Day website. To do so, select “Other” on the College drop down menu -> In the program drop down, select “Other” again ->Type in the name of the program/department listed above (please select only one per gift) in the box below and click next -> Complete thegiving form and know that you’ve made a huge impact on the Black community at Cornell!
Note: Please use as close to the exact language as possible for your write-in designation.
We hope that you join CBAA to support Cornell and these important programs.
Any questions can be directed to the director of Diversity Alumni Programs, Matt Carcella at mc879@cornell.edu.
